Description
The centerpiece of this exhibit about the use of animals in sculptures from the Near East is the Morgan's famous 1646 B.C. clay tablet, The Deluge Story, an early version of Noah's story. Also showcased in this focused exhibit are Mesopotamian sculptural works from ca. 3300–2250 B.C., on loan from The Met, the Yale University Babylonian Collection, the Kimbell Art Museum, and the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.
