Description

The Brooklyn Museum presents this special exhibition celebrating the Stonewall Uprising in a whole new way. More than 20 LGBTQ+ artists that were born after the 1969 riots—but who live and work in the City today—have their work displayed, showcasing the legacy and impact of the multiday riots that sparked the modern gay rights movement and the queer activism that ensued in the decades that followed. Artists’ works include that of Juliana Huxtable, Elle Pérez, Tuesday Smillie, David Antonio Cruz and Mohammad Fayaz.
