AnkhLave Arts Alliance work to highlight Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) in contemporary art. The six female, Queens-based artists who are participating in the 2020 AnkhLave Garden Fellows project—Asano Agarie Gomez, Cecilia André, Natali Bravo-Barbee, Kayo Shido, Christine Sloan Stoddard and Mariana T. Vilas Boas—have created site-specific art installations on the grounds of Queens Botanical Garden). The pieces, some focusing on current-day issues, include sculptural rocks, paintings and a colorful artificial rose garden.
