This two-day concert features Africa-inspired compositions from John Coltrane, Randy Weston, Jackie McLean, René McLean, Horace Parlan and others. The opening performance comes from students participating in the JALC Summer Jazz Academy, celebrating the music’s roots as well as some of its youngest stars.
