Reich Richter Part

Two immersive works form this unique experience as part of The Shed’s debut programming. One piece involves composer Steve Reich and German artist Gerhard Richter; the other, Richter and composer Arvo Pärt. The Reich-Richter portion looks at Reich’s repeating musical structures and Richter’s “Patterns” series of paintings in a mixed-genre film that has been specially commissioned for this event. The Richter-Pärt piece, which was originally developed at the Manchester International Festival, mixes Pärt’s choral music with Richter’s latest works of art.
