Renascence
This event has already occurred
Description
A woman well ahead of her time, poet and playwright Edna St. Vincent Millay was an award-winning writer and an early feminism activist. She gained notoriety at age 19 in 1912 with her poem Renascence, which upended the literary world with its frankness and emotional depth. This musical tells Millay’s story, transforming the lyrics of her famous—and, at the time, scandalous—poem into a musical score that celebrates her life and legacy.
