Rodin at the Brooklyn Museum: The Body in Bronze
This event has already occurred
Description
The Brooklyn Museum acquired nearly 60 bronze Rodin sculptures in 1983. In honor of the centennial of his death—and for the first time in more than 10 years—these pieces will be on view. Among the highlights are works related to his best-known creations: The Gates of Hell, the Monument to Balzac and The Burghers of Calais. The exhibit, part of a worldwide celebration, also includes several ancient sculptural fragments similar to those that inspired Rodin.
