Description
The Art Deco Society of New York hosts this program that examines the 1925 Paris Exposition and the influence it had in the United States. The illustrated lecture, presented by design historian and author Marilyn F. Friedman, will explore the ways the designs from the Exposition were presented to the American public and in New York City, including shows at museums, department stores and designers’ organizations. Friedman will also delve into how designers adopted these designs into what we now know to be Art Deco. The event takes place in person at The General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen of the City of New York as well as via Zoom.
