Seurat’s Circus Sideshow
This event has already occurred
Description
This thought-provoking show was built around one of the Met’s most captivating artworks—Post-Impressionist Georges Seurat’s painting Circus Sideshow. Although it debuted to little fanfare in Paris in 1888, it is now seen by critics as one of his most important canvases. In all, more than 100 drawings, paintings, prints, period posters and illustrated journals by Seurat and other artists influenced by his work will be on display.
