Description
The Sphinx Organization’s flagship performing entity presents a vibrant program of string music, opening with a piece by Teresa Carreño, a 19th-century pianist, composer, singer and conductor from Venezuela. The program also includes Derrick Skye’s American Mirror, Part One, which explores American music themes; works by violinist-composer Curtis Stewart; the Overture from Scottt Joplin’s Treemonisha; and a piece by film composer Levi Taylor honoring Joplin.
