Upper East Side
Carol Bove: The Séances Aren’t Helping
This event has already occurred
Description
This installation by sculptor Carol Bove is the second commission for the museum’s facade. Bove’s sculptures are made from sandblasted stainless-steel tubes and reflective aluminum disks sized according to the adjacent columns’ diameter. These figures stand in contrast to the traditional sculptures that Richard Morris Hunt intended for these niches when designing the front more than a century ago.
