Georgia O'Keeffe: Visions of Hawai'i

This event has already occurred

Description

Georgia O'Keeffe spent nine weeks in Hawaii in 1939 that resulted in paintings inspired by the sights she explored on the islands of Hawai‘i, Kauai, Maui and Oahu. A lush flower show in the New York Botanical Garden's conservatory that includes ti, frangipani, bougainvillea, heliconia, hibiscus, bird of paradise, ginger, and many more tropical favorites will be accompanied by more than 15 paintings not seen together in New York since their 1940 debut. The exhibit will integrate art, horticulture and historical interpretation as it presents the Hawai'i that O'Keeffe saw during her visit.
