Description
Walt Whitman was known for his epic poems about New York and also his trademark beard. Celebrate the bicentennial of Whitman's birth with this beard and mustache contest in Fort Greene Park, sponsored by the Brooklyn Public Library, Coney Island USA and the Fort Greene Park Conservancy. There are multiple categories of facial hair competition, including the Best in Show "Good Gray Poet", and lots of prizes available too. Registration is at 11am and the contest starts at noon.
